Using an LFO for a buildup on the Digitakt

Creating buildups is a great way to create tension and have a more dynamic song.

A pitch riser is a great idea to draw the listener in!

1. To create a pitch riser, loop a sample and set the LFO to:

  • Trig mode: "ONE"
  • SPD: 0.5
  • BPM 1
  • SRC: Tune
  • DEP: 128

2. Put in a note with a length of 112 for 8 bars (128-16 for the last bar to fade out)

3. Go to another track and put another looped sample onto it.

4. Go to the LFO from the previous track and hold the MOD (page) button and the copy button(record)

5 Go to the new track. Hold the MOD page button and Paste (stop)

Now your settings are copied to the second track!

Repeat as much as you like and don't forget to experiment.

You can do exactly the same for snare rolls. Add 16th note snares with an LFO set to one to let the snares fade in quickly.
